I have spent the last day in various emergency rooms but now I am back.

When working with on new SEO tool I wanted to find out which pages are linking to a certain site. This is one of the most important factors in determining the position in a search.

If you do the obvious:

http://www.google.com/search?q=link:www.markovic.com

You get all pages at markovic.com linking to other pages at markovic.com which is pretty much exactly what you do not want.

What you need to do is make this query:

http://www.google.com/search?q=www.markovic.com -site:www.markovic.com

Use this search to find external links to a specific page:

http://www.google.com/search?q= www.markovic.com/google-map-search/ -site:www.markovic.com

Make sure not to have http:// in the query.
