A while back I wrote that Google should stick to web based apps. A step in the right direction is the Gmail-based chat client. It does not require any software, but is maybe too basic.

The hottest thing right now are Ajax desktops. The plan is that create a personal dynamic home page. It sounds pretty lame. But Google has shown that it is possible to create a great Email client on the web. I am sure that they are working on a complete web based office suite that once and for all crush Microsoft’s dominance.
